Founded in 1880, Immaculate Conception Parish School and Preschool serves over 480 families and 820 students. The school has over 100 staff members including administration, office staff, classroom teachers, resource teachers, special area class teachers, teacher aides, and support staff. Immaculate Conception School fosters a “community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus”, dedicated to serving the mission of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the needs of its families.
Summary
Under the supervision of the Principal and Associate Principals, the teacher is responsible for fostering the social emotional development of elementary students.
This is a 200 day 50% contract position

Major Responsibilities and Duties :
Mission Implementation
Actively engage in living the mission of Immaculate Conception Catholic School, as a member of “a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus.”
Live the mission of the Catholic Church in daily life, as defined by the Christian Witness statement and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Provide the instruction and learning environment that will enable each student to experience growth of the whole child at the appropriate age, grade level, and individual capacity.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate effective planning skills by utilizing a purchased curriculum of SEL lessons that are grounded in the Catholic faith.
Develop students’ SEL skills including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making
Demonstrate competence in teaching by demonstrating current, thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter and be able to communicate effectively with students; be able to organize classroom learning and materials to maximize student time on tasks as well as motivate student learning.
Cooperate with school administration; work effectively with all staff members to promote positive relationships with students and parents.
