Job Summary
The Treatment Foster Care program provides individualized therapeutic interventions to children with significant medical, developmental, emotional, or behavioral needs who require a higher level of care and additional supports to the caregivers for the child to succeed in a community-based family setting. This is accomplished through a trauma-informed care lens that recognizes the significant needs of children placed in TFC homes and views the TFC provider as the primary change agent.
The TFC Specialist position is full time and provides in-home support and coaching to relative parents and foster parents to allow the child to achieve success in the program. This position coordinates treatment services for children in the program through:
- conducting home visits,
- supporting foster parents,
- implementing treatment plans and
- providing crisis management.
Job responsibilities include leading the treatment team and linking children to services within the systems impacting service delivery (i.e., educational, legal, medical, mental health systems). This position works as a member of the child’s team and maintains regular contact with the referring agency.

This position conducts activities in a manner to facilitate the fundamental goals of the program: safety of children, placement stability, and permanency for children.
Job Requirements
Minimum requirements include at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling and 2 years child welfare experience. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to work with a diverse client population, a desire to work as part of a team, a working knowledge of community resources and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends when necessary. This position also requires a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
