Responsibilities include supervision of assistant coaches and student-athletes. Assisting with recruiting future student-athletes is emphasized, as communication with the Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director, on all subjects relative to the program. Positively mentoring student-athletes, parents, and the entire Archbishop Carroll community on the volleyball program. Assist the Head Varsity Coach with scheduling practices, competitions, transportation, and other events/appearances i.e., recruiting of potential prospects, open house, off-season camps, clinics, and relative events.
Maintain upkeep and inventory of uniforms and equipment, and all volleyball program assets. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates the direction of the JV Volleyball program with the support of the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach;Supports the Head Varsity Coach in implementing the philosophy of Archbishop Carroll Volleyball as enunciated by the President; Know, disseminate and enforce all rules and regulations of the schools athletic conference and the Archbishop Carroll Athletic Handbook, ensuring adherence by all assistant coaches and students to all rules and procedures;Attends all appropriate meetings associated with the athletic program of the school, WCAC athletic conference and DCSAA; and other Volleyball-specific affiliations. Shares responsibility for monitoring the eligibility of all the students participating in the Volleyball program;Helps organize and maintain academic supports/interventions for student-athletes; Works closely with the trainer to obtain the required medical certification and parental consent for all students participating in the Volleyball program;Responsible for the proper reporting of all athletic injuries and/or other incidents at events under their supervision;SupervisionCoordinates logistics and supervision for all aspects of practice, scrimmages, matches, and other events as specified by the Athletic Director.SchedulingHelps with scheduling of non-conference matches under the direction of the Head Volleyball Coach and the Athletic Director;Engages necessary officials and requests necessary fees for scheduled matches.Qualifications: Experience coaching high school-level student-athletes2 or more years of coaching Volleyball At least 21 years of ageStrong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills, including problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Must be able to pass the background check and fingerprinting requirements, CPR, and Virtus Online training. https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/
