Major Gifts OfficerDepartment: Advancement Supervisor: VP of Advancement SummaryThe Major Gifts Officer is a self-directed and goal-driven fundraising professional who will serve as a core member of the Advancement Department. Reporting directly to the VP of Advancement, the MGO is tasked with expanding Archbishop Carrolls individual major donor base of five-to-seven-figure gifts. The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a frontline fundraiser, demonstrated success with major gift solicitations and program creation, and strong communication skills.Roles & Responsibilities Secure major gifts at the $50k level Manage portfolio of approximately 100-150 donors and prospects Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including donor database and wealth screening tools Create and implement moves management plans, including identifying and qualifying new prospects, cultivating and soliciting prospects and existing donors, and developing stewardship plans Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist the board and other staff with their solicitations (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications) Acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition Prepare proposals, reports, letters, emails, etc for prospects and donors Track and report progress using key performance metrics Work with the advancement department to align efforts and set goalsQualifications Bachelors Degree 5-7 years of experience in a frontline fundraising role A proven ability to develop and execute winning fundraising strategies and techniques, particularly in major gifts or capital campaigns Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to travel to meet donors Knowledge of CRM software required; knowledge of Raisers Edge NXT preferred Campaign experience preferred
