Job Description
In this role, the Data Quality Analyst on the data governance team will assist the business in making better decisions through collection and usage of data and ensuring our data is cared for through its complete lifecycle, as an enterprise asset. Data Quality Analyst partners across various functional teams to ensure data is created, managed and effectively utilized as trusted enterprise assets. This role will also serve as the primary contact representative responsible for documenting definitions of data, ensuring the correct usage and context of data, enforcing policy / security / privacy requirements and maintaining data quality and integrity within a respective business data domain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand the business processes to provide insights into critical data elements, their governance and management and drive consistent usage
- Involved in the creation or enhancement efforts of metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data quality rules, data lineage, reference data, functional process mapping efforts and related data governance procedures.
- Work with business stakeholders to validate, create and run data quality rules for all governed data elements within their functional areas.
- Help identify metadata-related inconsistencies across business areas and partner with business, product and engineering teams to build solutions.
- Determine and monitor data quality metrics from data sources to measure applicable dimensions of completeness, accuracy and consistency of data.
- Drive exploratory data analysis and provide results to Business Partners to drive value generating activities for managing risks and enhancing controls.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for data defects, and support and promote its resolution.
- Identify sensitive data and assist in classification and setting up a security framework for respective data domains. Partner with Compliance and Data Privacy teams to analyze any impact from regulatory landscape changes across multiple regions
- Other Duties as Assigned.
