What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Material Handler position at Archem America Inc.?
Summary/Objective
- After the appropriate label has been printed and attached to the container the material handler must secure the finished product.
- After bin has been labeled the bin must be placed in the appropriate location in the warehouse using a forklift or appropriate lift truck.
- Load & unload trucks with finished goods, containers, or components.
Essential Functions
- Must be a member of the spill team and available for chemical unloads.
- Load and unload all inbound and outbound materials.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment in a safe manner. Complete all required and necessary safety checks.
- Maintain the housekeeping and 5-S activities of the surrounding shipping area.
- Ensure correct placement of finished goods in warehouse (FIFO).
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Pull and stage all shipments

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months experience and knowledge of production processes.
- One (1) year experience operating forklift or like equipment, and must be able to obtain and maintain forklift license.
- Must obtain Hazmat training for chemical unloads.
Work Environment
This job operates in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands
- Physically able to sit/drive forklift six or more hours per shift. Able to get on and off forklift numerous times during the course of a shift. Ability to work in heat. Ability to climb ladders and stairs, and work off platforms. Lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must work overtime as required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. However, must be flexible with hours and days to accommodate our business needs.
