Who We Are:
Archem America (ACA) specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of automotive parts. Specifically, ACA specializes in providing Polyurethane Foam Products for the automotive industry to customers in North America and Canada.
Primary Function
Daily coordination for Environmental Safety & Health Issues for assigned location. Responsible for OSHA and EPA compliance, accident investigations and reporting, and employee training. Maintain positive employee relations and strive towards a safe and environmentally sound workplace.
Summary/Objective
Manage Hazardous Waste (WAA, profiles, and coordinate disposal)
Initiate and maintain pertinent permits for hazardous materials
Interact with all departments to assist with EHS issues.
Performs administrative duties for the EHS department including but not limited to general data entry and filing of training records, compliance documentation, and other EHS records.
Essential Functions
Daily adherence of OSHA, EPA, and Company regulations and policies.
Practice and educate safe working techniques, monitor compliance with company’s safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Prepare and write plant EHS policies and procedures.
Conduct new employee and refresher training as necessary.
Conduct periodic plant audits for OSHA and EPA compliance.
Lead internal accident investigations and reporting.
Audit and upkeep of plant safety equipment.
Assist with annual health testing.
Assist with any air monitoring and sampling.
Lead regular safety committee meetings.
Assist with environmental permitting, waste reduction, and budgeting.
Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions.
Assist with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
Provide advice, assist, and audit safety processes to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working. Perform and contribute to the Site Training Plans by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of modular training programs for the Operation.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Environmental Health & Safety.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office/industrial environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year industrial/manufacturing safety experience
Working knowledge of Federal/State Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
Working knowledge of chemical safety and hygiene
Must be proficient in use of Microsoft office suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong time management skills
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in EHS and/or 4 years or more related safety experience and/or training
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Familiarity with ISO 14001 commitments
Experience working with EPA on Title V, RCRA
Ability to work without direct supervision
