Staff Autonomy Software Engineer

We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.What you’ll do : Join a small team of engineers working on Archer’s autonomous futureBreakdown high level concepts and requirements into achievable tasksDevelop simulations and technology demonstrators to verify and demonstrate conceptsArchitect, implement and validate software that will be deployed to simulations, drone testbeds and full scale aircraftsWork closely with suppliers, partners, regulators and standardization bodies to develop the required components and technologiesContribute to evaluating emerging technologies, concepts, and industry trendsGeneral : Passion for learning and problem solvingA general knowledge of or interest in aviationExperience with advancing technologies from concept to productionDegree in engineering or related fieldWhat you need : 7 years of professional experience in the Aerospace / Automotive industryHands on experience designing, implementing, integrating and validating software for autonomous systemsExperience with widely used languages like  C , Python, MatlabGeneralist mindset, with the ability to work cross platform, from bringing up simulations on cloud compute platforms to optimizing software for embedded systemsBroad knowledge of sensors typically used in autonomous systems (INS, radars, cameras, Lidars, radio positioning systems, etc.).Good understanding of computer architecture, embedded software, communication standards and protocolsA basic understanding of fundamental physicsExcellent organizational and communication skillsBonus qualifications : Experience certifying software for aerospace or autonomous vehicles (DO-178C or ISO-26262)Experience working on software for Flight Controls, State Estimation  or Flight Management SystemsExcel at working on multiple projects at the same time or wearing multiple hatsAt Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between  $151,680 - $189,600.
