Job Description:
Lead lab team to ensure safe operations, compliance with environmental laws, and conformance to customer quality standards and good manufacturing practices. Effectively communicate lab data to all levels of plant personnel in a timely manner. Responsible for final product review and release. Perform equipment maintenance, calibration and repair.

Job Requirements:
- Support the QC lab Safety program and help facilitate ADM Safety initiatives.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, PM and repair laboratory and facility equipment as needed.
- Must be willing and able to job cycle check technicians on procedures in order to qualify them in jobs.
- Must have a minimum of one year QC Lab experience.
- Must have adequate exposure to all technician jobs in the lab if not qualified on each
- Must be willing and able to train other technicians in all qualified jobs.
- Approval for finished product shipments
- Documentation review (including chromatography)
- Ability to perform assays specific to the lead tech
- Demonstrated ability to work through situations involving product quality logically while involving the appropriate personnel as necessary
- Must have demonstrated good attendance
- Must have demonstrated leadership potential. It is an expectation that this person will be functionally supervising a team of 4 technicians.
- Ability to offer feedback as needed in order to develop more effective technicians.
- Performance reviews must be favorable in all areas for last year (meets or exceeds).
- Must be able to work a rotating, 12 hour shift.
- Safety: must have a strong focus on safety and lead others through safe work practices
- Leadership: good trainer, sets good example for other technicians
- Professionalism: professional interactions with plant and lab colleagues, able to handle someone questioning the accuracy of results
- Responsibility: showing ownership of the lab, equipment, your work area and results
- Initiative: willingness to take on tasks with minimal guidance from supervision (self-training on another job, creating work sheets and SOP’s, etc.)
- Teamwork: working with peers to get the job done and doing your part, willingness to cover extra shifts when not on call, leaving your relief in good shape
- Communication: sharing ideas on how to solve problems or make things better, clearly relaying necessary information.
- Problem Solving: ability to systematically work through problems to determine a solution both with equipment and result
