Job Summary
Load/Unload wet and dry railcars/tanker trucks for distribution to customers. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Installing and maintaining machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
- Troubleshooting mechanical failures and electrical systems
- Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining drive systems and motors
- Installing material systems and fabricating
- Operate pumps and valves to unload dry and liquid railcars.
- Perform and document QC checks to insure all products meet our quality specifications.
- Perform and document sanitation duties of the terminal as assigned by management.
- Complete and maintain QC logs and forms as specified by S.O.P’s.
- Operate pumps and valves to sanitize tanker trailers.
- Operate pumps and valves to make liquid Sucrose and Liquid Blends.
- Perform daily equipment inspection with the ability to detect mechanical defects and notify Supervisor.
- Operate computer systems to input data and/or other business functions.
- Handle and connect hoses.
- Couple and uncouple trailers, cranking of dolly legs, pulling 5th wheel pins.
- Ascending and descending tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, ladders and step stools.
- Jockey trailers using tractors and yard tractors within Company property only.

- Strong mechanical and tool skills, excellent communication skills are necessary for this position
- Previous welding, mechanical and electrical experience is preferred
- Must be willing and able to perform basic and complex maintenance repair tasks in all areas of the plant
- Must be willing and able to take formal trade school courses as selected by management
- Candidate must be willing and able to work weekends, overtime and emergency call-in or call-back work
- The position requires that you have the ability to lift 50 pounds, work with heights, sit, stand, kneel, crawl, bend and work in a variety of hot, cold, and dusty environments.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Noise Level: Moderate to Loud noise level.
- PPE: Hard hat, gloves (leather/rubber), safety glasses/goggles, steel or composite toe boots, fall protection.
- Work Schedule: Employee will work a pre-determined schedule that can include up to 12 hour shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to sit stand and walk. Use fingers/hands to feel, reach with arms.
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to talk and hear.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
