Shutdown Planner
This is a full-time, exempt-level position reporting into our Decatur, IL processing site.
Job Summary
The execution of shutdowns is a complex and crucial part of the life cycle of a plant. As a Shutdown Planner, you will be responsible for taking work orders and creating detailed job packages that include (job steps (ManHours/Durations), location/plot plans, marked up photos and drawings, and proper specs in an effort to minimize confusion and maximize efficiency during execution.
A good plan is the foundation to any successful shutdown event. The shutdown planner will review the work orders that have been defined as shutdown scope, perform a job walk in the field, plan the work accordingly, and oversee the execution and completion of the scope, acting as the job representative for the field personnel.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about safety, comfortable delivering at pace, a proven people leader, and effective communicator.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop the basis of the schedule by calculating job steps with headcount and duration required
- Coordinate Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) between crafts
- Integrate maintenance, operations, and engineering activities into an overall shutdown plan
- Record lessons learned during each phase of the project
- Coordinate with the shutdown manager on a resource plan
- Order, track, receive, and stage materials for the event
- Overseer of jobs and field coordination during execution
- 5 years of maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing plant
- Proven experience planning in Maximo or SAP PM
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Projects, Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed
