This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commodity markets and futures/options trading while working on-site at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) in downtown Chicago. Interns will gain exposure to technical and fundamental market analysis, risk management strategies, and real-time trading execution. While the position is primarily in-person, there is potential for some remote work depending on the candidate's experience and performance.
Responsibilities:
· Work closely with a Senior Broker in supporting an established client base.
· Assist in developing and executing trading and hedging strategies using futures and
options for agricultural producers, including cow/calf operators, feedlot managers, pork
producers, and grain farmers.
· Monitor and analyze market trends, weather reports, global news, and supply/demand
factors to assess market direction.
· Conduct technical and fundamental analysis of commodity prices.
· Track client positions and communicate margin calls and trade confirmations.
Qualifications:
· A recent graduate or current senior pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics,
Agriculture, or a related Business field.
· Strong interest in agricultural markets, futures, and options trading.
· Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Based in the Chicagoland area or willing to relocate.
