Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Tax Preparer to join our team. In this role, you will assist individuals and businesses in preparing and filing their tax returns accurately and in compliance with applicable tax laws. You will be responsible for reviewing financial records, ensuring tax deductions and credits are applied correctly, and advising clients on potential tax-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, families, and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review and analyze financial documents, such as W-2s, 1099s, and other forms to ensure proper reporting of income, deductions, and credits.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies, including deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information and clarify any questions or discrepancies.
- Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and changes that may affect clients' filings.
- Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and extensions.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical standards of the profession.
- Assist in resolving any tax-related issues or discrepancies, including audits and other inquiries from tax authorities.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and questions in a professional and responsive manner.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a tax preparer or in a similar role (2 years preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and tax preparation software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Certification (such as Enrolled Agent or CPA) is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax preparation software (e.g., Intuit ProConnect, Drake Tax).

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
