Role Overview:
We're seeking a skilled individual for a role that involves efficient setup, adjustment, maintenance, and operation of laser systems in accordance with production sequences, part drawings, and work orders. This role requires accurate execution of setups, a comprehensive grasp of machine control, and the ability to perform routine maintenance. As the Operator, you'll ensure that produced parts adhere to quality standards and collaborate with the Production Lead and Production Manager to meet departmental standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical instructions and work orders to prepare goods for shipment.
- Execute part production in line with drawing specifications by setting up, operating, and adjusting Kern laser cutting machines and their controls.
- Manage inventory of supplies and tools used in the laser department, adhering to company procedures.
- Strive to meet or exceed job time standards whenever possible.
- Troubleshoot machine control and part program issues.
- Measure parts, inspect files, and maintain a keen eye for detail.
- Uphold a clean and secure work environment.
- Load and unload materials onto machines, verifying adherence to required specifications and making equipment adjustments as needed.
- Address quality control issues within the department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating laser machines or similar equipment preferred; training provided for the right candidate.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness and strength for working with sheet goods.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation for problem solving and analytical purposes.
- Basic computer skills, including navigating CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Well-developed time management, logical thinking, and sense of urgency.
