Summary
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief Engineer, Construction Division, Construction Branch. The individual is a Motor Vehicle Operator performing driving and operating duties on a variety of motor vehicles and equipment and also performs diverse construction laborer duties, including assisting with demolition and clean-up at construction sites, erecting scaffolding, using carpentry tools, etc.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.

Duties
The tour of duty is 4 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM (Monday - Thursday) Hours may change due to Operating Needs of Management
This position is emergency essential. Depending on the type of emergency the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
The incumbent drives the 2008 Kenworth, Model T300 on a regular and recurring basis10 to 18 hours per week. The vehicle has air brakes and the GVW is 54,600 lbs. requiring a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Other vehicles driven on a regular basis include : 2006 International DT466, GVW 33,000 lbs., 2012 International Durastar, GVW 23,000 lbs. and the 2013 Ford F-750, GVW 26,000 lbs. and large trailers. He also operates forklifts, hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and pallet wrap machines. The incumbent loads vehicles, transports supplies and equipment to multiple sites, such as Ft. Meade, MD, Alexandria, VA, Landover, MD, Upper Marlboro, MD and out-of-state such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
