ALW is seeking a talented and highly organized Architect/Designer to join our team of professionals.

Summary of Position


Every team member contributes to the quality of the studio work by applying one’s unique experience, initiative, individual perspective, discipline, and design sensibility.

The Architect/Designer will support community-engaged architectural projects, including higher education, institutional, and commercial building projects, community and campus planning, multi-family housing, and custom-designed residences.

An Architect/Designer is responsible for understanding and developing project goals, contributing to the project team’s success, and striving for excellence in the work.

Minimum Experience, Education, and/or Training

0-5 years of work experience in architectural or related fields.

Bachelor of Architecture, NAAB accredited program.

Required Skills and Abilities

Prepare design drawings, models, renderings, diagrams, and other visual tools to help communicate project ideas.

Complete and clearly present, code, material, or context research and analyses.

Serve as a team member to complete construction documents, check shop drawings, and complete field inspections and reports.

Take notes, file, and support and follow digital organizational systems.

A good listener and a creative voice in the office.

Basic knowledge of construction systems and details.

Basic knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering systems.

Exhibit strong time and project organizational skills.

Strong communication skills will be critical for successful candidates.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to participate in and lead group discussions. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and other co-workers.

Ability to understand priorities, possess good time management and manage multiple tasks and schedules.

Exemplary work ethic and ability to work independently.

Ability to comprehend and interpret building and zoning codes.

Excellent analytical and research skills.

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)

Sketchup

ArchiCAD and/or Revit
