Description:
Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to millwork products.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
Essential Functions
- Select the correct paint or stain for the surface to be covered
- Know how to select the correct applicator for the surface to be covered
- Report any defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
- Follow the prescribed safety regulations
- Wear appropriate OSHA approved personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Required to pass the annual Pulmonary Test and Respirator Fit.
- Knowledge of a variety of finish products and application techniques
- Strong attention to detail and safety
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience with finish products preferred
Physical Requirements
- Regularly require the use masks or respirators to cover mouth and nose even in specially ventilated areas.
- Regularly require the ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach
- Regularly require the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Periodically require the ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds
- Sometimes require the ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds
