General Position Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible to lead, facilitate, train and mentor the team and individuals. The Production Supervisor ensures that quality products are produced safely, on time, and efficiently. The Production Supervisor is responsible to develop, train, and foster positive working relationships with team members and engage their teams to focus on continuous improvement.

Directly supervise 10-30 employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including exhibiting core value behavior. Responsibilities include hiring and training employees; assigning work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the production floor the noise level may be loud.

General Position Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible to lead, facilitate, train and mentor the team and individuals. The Production Supervisor ensures that quality products are produced safely, on time, and efficiently. The Production Supervisor is responsible to develop, train, and foster positive working relationships with team members and engage their teams to focus on continuous improvement.
Principal Duties
- Supervise extrusion, distribution, maintenance, caustic, and die shop team members.
- Create a culture of safety and teamwork in the department.
- Champion a lean manufacturing culture driven through leader standard work, visual controls, and daily accountability.
- Ensure the team produces high quality products on time and complete for customers.
- Manage production levels, scrap, and raw materials for the shift.
- Responsible for the Shipping and/or Transportation operations, inventory, hour by hour check points for each area, and order accuracy.
- Utilize Lean tools and methods to continuously improve processes and performance.
- Manage employee time and attendance.
- Assist Human Resources team members to select and appropriately staff current and future production demands.
- Coach, discipline, and develop team members to achieve established goals.
- Communicate results, goals, and improvement plans by conducting daily team meetings.
- Foster an environment that promotes Company Core Values, Code of Conduct, and customer value.
- Ensure all employees are trained to perform their duties safely.
- Develop respectful relationships with team members that foster a healthy work environment and encourage retention.
- Duties may require off-shifts and weekend coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in related field desired; minimum of one to three years related leadership experience in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
- Ability to work flexible weekend hours, when required (all shifts).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of obtaining results and driving change.
- Experience using Lean and tools and methodologies.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Experience in production supervision in a low volume, high mix environment
- Experience supervising in a unionized production workforce.
