Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Door Hardware Applicator to install hardware on aluminum curtain wall and storefront doors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding hardware compatibility, ensuring that all installations meet quality standards and comply with industry codes. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to achieve production goals.
Duties
- Ability to read and understand door hardware schedules.
- 2-5 years experience with Von Duprin/Falcon/Sargent hardware.
- Locksmith experience a plus.
- Attend meetings with project manager, VP of Operations, and any other parties to a particular project to review hardware requirements.
- Prepare templates required to complete fabrication.
- Retain a comprehensive knowledge of all hardware systems and their installation.
- Continually evaluate and manage the workload to achieve maximum efficiency and meet individual project schedules. Advise VP of Operations and project manager of possible delays.
- Provide proper concise labeling for all components to be shipped to the job site. Evaluate site deliveries to ensure that all components required are on board.
- Keep a clean and safe work area.
- Maintain tools and equipment and advise on additional tools, technology, etc. that may improve efficiency and quality.
- Experience
- Proven experience in a door hardware role or similar position within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in building and assembling components as part of the fabrication process.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and industry codes/standards effectively.
