What are the responsibilities and job description for the Powder Coat Technician position at Architectural Mailboxes?
Powder Coat Technicians are responsible for the overall start up, operation, and shut down of the Powder Coat pre-treatment, pre-drying, coating application, and curing oven processes associated with the Powder Coat Paint Lines. Powder oat Technicians are responsible for applying best practices associated with the safe operation of all equipment associated with the paint line as well as, the quality of the paint line application to production materials, for meeting defined production standards, for controlling related costs, and for assuring compliance to all associated regulatory requirements.
What you’ll do:
- Apply powder coat to parts according to orders
- Ensure coating thickness, color and formula are correct
- Maintain log of powder application
- Troubleshoot and resolve abnormalities
- Perform regular procedures to maintain system safety
- Perform powder coat color changes
- Maintain cleanliness of the powder coat application area
- Maintain performance of application equipment and room
- Inspect cure ovens per work instructions and clear out items
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Work other positions in the powder coat area
- Other tasks as requested
Qualifications for Internal Candidates:
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand, lift and bend for up to 10 hours per shift
- Successfully passed their 90-Day probationary period
- Must have a good attendance record
- Must exhibit a good work record and not currently be on probation or have any outstanding warnings or reprimands
