Job Title: Finisher/Trimmer

Reports To - Production Supervisor
Liaises with - Production Supervisor, Production Manager and Scheduler
Duties:
· Trimming, grinding, repairing and storage of form liners
· Train subordinates in proper techniques and acceptable methods for trimming and repairing
· Perform weekly reviews in a fair manner, compile results and forward to Safety Officer
· Prioritize order of trimming in coordination with Scheduler and Production Supervisor
· Check APTRIM email on a daily basis for updates and directions
· Verify liner designation (i.e. job number & type) on completed form liners
· Notify QC and Production Supervisor of inferior product(s)
· Notify QC of completed liners prior to stacking for QC approval
· If Materials Handler is not available, properly move form liners, if permitted by Production Supervisor
· When required and directed by production supervisor, assign subordinates to assist deckhands in AP approved techniques and procedures, i.e. rubber pouring, mold prep, releases, etc.
· Maintain, organize and utilize distributed shop drawings and job orders
· Verify the quantities required for shipment with QC and/or scheduler
· Organize and inventory supplies stored in Job Box. Report low supplies to purchasing manager
· Report defective/unsafe equipment and work areas to Production Supervisor or Production Manager
General Duties:
· Use production techniques which are consistent with the company standards of quality while applying work habits, which are in accordance with the company employee policy, as outlined in the organizational manual.
· Maintain all work area in a clean and safe condition. Immediately inform Production Supervisor of any hazardous condition.
· Perform all work in a safe manner. The use of safety glasses and steel-toed boots is required at all times.
· Be willing to participate in shop meetings (OSHA, safety, production, and benefits) and training programs which are sponsored by the company.
· When in personal contact with an associate, maintain a polite, courteous attitude, and refer any problems to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager. Maintain a positive work attitude and cooperate with fellow employees.
· Return and store all unused materials in an orderly fashion on completion of job. Clean and return shop tools to their designated storage space.
· Promptly advise the Production Supervisor and Scheduler of the completion of the job and the use of materials and labor performed which does not appear on the work order before requesting a new assignment.
· Notify Purchasing Manager of impending deficiencies for timely replenishment.
· Be willing to perform other tasks, outside of this job description, as assigned by superiors.
Physical Demands:
· Heavy (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).
· Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
· The ability to safely use industrial machinery and power tools.
· Repeated bending and twisting
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent Apprenticeship
· Knowledge of all aspects of industrial, manufacturing or commercial construction including technical, equipment, methods and safety
· Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision while establishing effective relationships with production and project teams
· Ability to influence others cross-functionally without having leadership authority or title and positively building and influencing the plant safety culture in a world class manner while increasing employee engagement and accountability
· Occupational and safety certifications like forklift, OSHA # 511, CPR, First Aid
· Maintain good oral and written communication at all times
· Valid and insurable PA driver’s license
· Computer skills in Microsoft Office or be willing to learn is a plus
