Roofing Service Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Roof Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various roofing systems. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the longevity and safety of our roofing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspections:
• Conduct bi-annual comprehensive inspections of commercial and residential roofing systems to identify potential issues such as leaks, wear, and tear.
• Utilize standardized checklists to evaluate roof conditions, flashing, drainage systems, and reflective coatings.
• Maintenance & Repairs:
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including cleaning gutters, removing debris, and applying protective coatings.
• Execute repair work on roofing systems, including patching leaks, replacing damaged shingles or tiles, and sealing seams and joints.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, recording findings in centralized digital systems.
• Assist in generating reports summarizing the status and performance of roofing systems for management review.
• Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while performing work on rooftops and during inspections.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety measures are in place when working at heights.
• Customer Interaction:
• Communicate effectively with facility managers and other stakeholders regarding findings and recommendations for repairs or maintenance.
• Provide professional and courteous service to clients while addressing their inquiries and concerns.
• Training & Development:
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with roofing technologies, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
• Support the development of an organized roof maintenance program, sharing insights and recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; roofing or construction-related certifications preferred.
• Proven experience in roofing maintenance, repair, or construction.
• Knowledge of various roofing materials and systems (e.g., asphalt, metal, EPDM, TPO).
• Proficient understanding of safety procedures and equipment related to roofing work.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
• Capable of working in varying weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
