Role Description:
A Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized machinery used to produce cabinetry components like cabinets, drawers, and doors, ensuring high-quality output by following production plans, adjusting machine settings, and performing quality checks on each piece, while adhering to safety protocols within a casework manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
- Load raw materials (wood panels, edge banding) onto the designated machinery (CNC machines, edge banders, panel saws, etc.) according to work orders and blueprints.
- Adjust machine settings like cutting depth, feed rate, and tooling based on specific component requirements.
- Monitor machine functions during production runs, identifying and addressing any malfunctions promptly.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished components for accuracy in dimensions, cuts, and finishes, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Perform necessary adjustments to machine settings to correct any quality issues.
- Utilize measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine cleaning and lubrication of machinery to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and adjustments to address machine malfunctions.
- Report any major equipment issues to maintenance personnel
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain production logs, recording details like quantity produced, scrap rates, and machine downtime.
- Follow established safety procedures and report any safety concerns.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
