About the position
Responsible for leading and shaping the organization's data governance initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the effective management and optimization of key data governance domains, including Master Data Management, Metadata & Reference Data Management, Business Glossary, and Data Quality. This role will work closely with business consumers, as well as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Oval Edge, Profisee, Microsoft Azure, and other cross-functional teams, to drive the successful implementation of data governance frameworks, in alignment with the Company and IT mission, vision, and values, and with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations.

Day in the life
Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of data governance, driving the effective management of Master Data, Metadata, Reference Data, Business Glossary, and Data Quality. Champions best practices to ensure scalability, consistency, and adherence to organizational goals.Leads the design and implementation of the Data Governance Framework, focusing on the establishment and enforcement of policies, standards, and procedures. Guides the adoption of the Data Governance Operating Model, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and recommending platform enhancements to maximize benefits.Acts as a bridge between technical SMEs (OvalEdge, Profisee, and Microsoft Azure) and business users, fostering alignment on data governance initiatives. Partners closely with business consumers and SMEs to address challenges, identify opportunities, and achieve data governance objectives.Builds and maintain a robust business glossary to promote consistent terminology and understanding across the organization. Ensures clear definitions and governance around critical data elements to support transparency and collaboration.Designs and enforce data quality standards to improve the integrity, reliability, and usability of data. Implements robust data quality frameworks and establishes metrics to track and improve data governance performance.Engages regularly with ArchKey IT leadership and business teams, leveraging excellent verbal and written communication skills to align stakeholders, address issues, and drive consensus on initiatives. Maintains transparency and consistency in updates, strategies, and recommendations.Operates effectively in a cross-functional, agile environment, managing a dynamic backlog of priorities for business and technical teams. Fosters a collaborative atmosphere that encourages innovation and efficient problem-solving.Documents all core deliverables for the Data Governance Framework, including the operating model, roles and responsibilities, policies, standards, use cases, and performance metrics. Creates comprehensive records of policies, business processes, and requirements related to the creation, maintenance, and management of data.Provides regular and high-quality hiring, communications, mentoring, coaching, problem-solving and training to teams, staff and other co-workers at all levels as needed. Advises and coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology or a related field.Minimum 5-7 years of IT management and leadership experience, with a focus on business services, preferably within the construction industry in a multi-office environment. Minimum 3 years of experience directly managing people.Extensive experience driving the implementation of Data Governance initiatives, including Master Data, Metadata, Reference Data, Data Glossary, and Data Quality.Skilled in leveraging data-centric solutions to establish and manage Data Management workflows, with a strong focus on Governance and Quality.Demonstrated ability to define, implement, and manage end-to-end data governance and management programs, with a deep understanding of their critical role in executing successful data strategies.Experience working with or supporting financial processes, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.Hands-on experience with cloud-based Azure services, ensuring scalable and secure data management. Skilled in using tools like OvalEdge, Informatica, and Collibra to streamline and optimize data governance efforts.Proven track record of leading project management and delivery teams, ensuring successful execution of complex initiatives. Demonstrated ability to lead projects with significant complexity and risk exposure, balancing technical, operational, and organizational priorities.Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and implement best practices to enhance products, processes, and services.Strong business insight and deep domain knowledge within the assigned portfolio, enabling impactful decision-making and strategic contributions.Adept at exercising sound judgment to solve technical, operational, and organizational challenges while aligning with business objectives.Skilled in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to align on scope, cost, and timelines, driving consensus and delivering value.Experience in managing teams, including recruiting talent, managing performance, and making strategic decisions about resource allocation.Strong knowledge of data, analytics, and client data capabilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving innovative solutions.Proficient in leveraging reporting systems such as Salesforce and Power BI to generate actionable insights and inform strategic decisionsSuperior listening, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, influencing, collaboration, and conflict management skills for employee groups at all levels.
