DescriptionWorkdays : Monday – FridayWork Hours : 8 : 30 a.m. - 5 : 30 p.m.Location : 1115 Mission Rd., San Antonio, TX. 78210Mission : Seton Home works to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home, education, and support services necessary to transform the lives of pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children.Summary : The Program Director will be responsible for the overall management of the programmatic, administrative, financial, and operational systems related to the provision of care and services; provision of regular and timely reports to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) regarding operations, services, and finances; establishing a respectful and supportive workplace environment; and elevating any issues or concerns to agency leadership. This position oversees and manages the entire scope of Seton Home’s international shelter and program services and its compliance with licensing standards and contract requirements. This position works in collaboration with the Vice President of Programs to establish a trauma-informed care environment that utilizes best practices to meet the needs of all children. This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring, and training of all staff under their supervision.Position Responsibilities : The director will be responsible for recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training new employees under their supervision. Will make recommendations for termination.Ensures licensing standards, program and safety requirements, and contract expectations are met.Oversee and manage the entire scope of international shelter and program services, including staffing patterns, ratio, client supervision, client rights, basic needs, education, activities, and team assignments.Provide ongoing leadership, guidance, and daily supervision of direct reports.Understand and communicate program goals and expectations efficiently and effectively.Understand and communicate licensing and program requirements and stay abreast of changes in the standards and educate staff on needed changes.Ensure trauma-informed care principles are being effectively implemented.Promote teamwork and collaboration to best meet the needs of residents.Observe and evaluate staff performance as it relates to the accomplishment of program goals and program and licensing requirements.Be available and respond to crisis situations and emergencies promptly, providing guidance for staff and clear directives.Other duties as assigned by Vice President of Programs and Executive Director.Competencies : LeadershipPerformance ManagementCustomer ServiceDeveloping OthersResilienceMinimum Qualifications : Education Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, or other social services related field preferred.Bachelor’s degree in above fields with 5 years of experience in child welfare, program management, or related.Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in shelter / residential services with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.License and Credentials Reliable transportationValid driver licenseValid vehicle insuranceLicensed Child Care Administrator license preferred, qualifications to obtain required.Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children.Varicella : two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection.MMR : two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.DTaP or DTap : Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one DTaP dose in adulthood.Influenza : one dose annually during flu season.Minimum Knowledge and Skills : 5 years’ experience in youth-serving shelter services including work with teens, infants, and toddlers, residential childcare licensing requirements, and standards-based programming.Extensive working knowledge of program development, child welfare, issues faced by teen parents, child and adolescent development, and trauma-informed care.Knowledge of Residential Child Care Licensing Standards and 24-hour care requirements.Knowledge of the needs of vulnerable and culturally diverse populations.Experience with computer software and MS Office suite required, Kaleidacare software experience preferred.A solid grasp of creating learning opportunities and developing safe, stimulating environments for teens and young children.Ability to evaluate tasks, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.Ability to build and maintain partnerships and working relationships with contractors, funders, and other stakeholders.Ability to communicate program goals and expectations verbally and in writing to a variety of learners.Ability and willingness to work some evenings and / or weekend hours as needed.Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.Must have good written and verbal skills.Bilingual : Fluent in English / Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language.Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Travel Requirements : Travel requirements for the position include 10% local and less than 5% overnight.Disclaimer : This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.
