Reviews all plans submitted for permitting and conducts inspections of all construction or work for which a permit is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provides assistance to the public regarding building construction and inspection.
Reviews construction drawings for conformance with the applicable building codes.
Identifies code violations and building infractions and posts correction notices and "stop work" action notices at construction sites.
Works in conjunction with the Planning Department to identify land use violations and reports violations to the Planning Department staff.
Reviews plans submitted for permits within the unincorporated areas of Archuleta County. Reviews blueprints and assists builders to revise plans in order to comply with codes, verifies accuracy of calculations, and works with architects, engineers, and the public to ensure compliance of all new
construction with the applicable codes.
Conducts inspections of structural, framing, fire safety, mechanical, and plumbing requirements for compliance with the applicable codes.
Maintains records of actions regarding plan review and inspections.
Conducts inspections for the Archuleta County Housing Authority.
Conducts inspections as needed and pertaining to the Archuleta County Nuisance Code.
Participates in various committees, public meetings, and boards related to program activities and responsibilities.
