Speech Language Therapist

Description

Specific duties and responsibilities:

· Screens students when referred to determine need for intervention

· Evaluates students to obtain information necessary for treatment planning

· Recommends appropriate frequency and type of service delivery

· Implements speech and language programs within the educational setting as prescribed by the students’ IEP’s

· Initiates referrals when appropriate

· Completes written documentation: progress reports, individualized educational plans, and monthly statistics

· Maintains documentation necessary for case management

· Evaluates student progress and adjusts objectives as needed

· Provides in-service education to staff

· Participates in the development of designated educational and child study team services, policies, procedures, and program

· Participates in the self-evaluation process

· Responsible for any miscellaneous duties as assigned

· Attends yearly “Handle With Care” Primary Restraint Technique (PRT

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

One year experience

NJ DOE Speech/Language Therapist Certificate
