Some Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of club staff, including golf course personnel, food and beverage service staff, and administrative staff.
- Responsible for the selection, development, leadership, and retention of talented staff.
- Ensure compliance with national programs such as Players Club, Core Beverage Program, Menu Program, Approved Product List, and Beverage Bartender Program.
- Ensure financial targets are being met and appropriate accounting procedures are being followed consistently.
- Be well versed in inventory and cost controls.
- Ensure proper controls are in place and being followed to accurately track revenues, payroll, inventories, and expenses.
- Ensure staff is providing excellent guest service. Review guest and member surveys and feedback and determine an appropriate plan of action if appropriate.
- Assist with Marketing initiatives by acting as Social Media Coordinator and creating promotional materials as directed by the GM and/or Corporate Marketing.
- Work with the Regional Vice President and GM to create and execute short-term and long-term operational and financial plans to improve quality and financial results.
- Administration and oversight of club programs such as golf cart rental program and handicap program.
- Retail and merchandising responsibilities to include displaying inventory in a clean and attractive manner, completing inventories, and cost of goods reports, and ensuring proper controls are being followed.
- Golf systems administration to include reservation system maintenance and accuracy and green fee accuracy on the website and other sources.
- Maintains constant communication between departments and keeps other departments informed about special programs and events.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the golf club, including golf course maintenance, pro shop, dining facilities, and events.
- Pay attention to the details in all areas of your concern. Emails, voicemails and communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Walk through and take notes of the physical plant daily. Discerning eye for details especially those that are member facing.
- Ride the course with the Super bare minimum once a week. Ride the course without the Super if he/she is not available- take notes, take charge and remedy any issues. Give kudos if exception is witnessed.
- Check the Tee Sheet and be aware of the weather constantly check the weekly forecast. Does the schedule reflect the needs for the day.
- Review scheduling in all departments- this can be discussed at the weekly leadership meeting; schedules need to reflect volume of business and budget goals.
- Weekly IA’s- setup from GM- succinct, actionable and limited to 3 items- due every Saturday to your GM
- Forecasting- have forecasting details ready by leadership meeting every week. You will receive information from your department heads on their insight into Rev, Labor and COGs. You will have your own numbers prior to receiving theirs. Have your accountant help with gathering of information. You should know what the goal is ahead of leadership and Dept Heads should merely be affirmation. If your figures vary from that of the DH start a conversation and have a detailed discussion of why you have different numbers and come to a consensus. These are updated on Anaplan weekly by Wednesday 5pm and the final on the 25th monthly. Do not input anything into Anaplan without consulting your GM first.
- Weekly 1v1 with GM- nonnegotiable- unified front and consistent messaging, you must be on the same page as your GM.
- Weekly BEO session with your PE, F&B, MRC, and EC- keep yourself dialed in on product ordering, checkbook, labor, and service details. Attention to details.
- Be present for PE events, Tourneys and through dining room execution- your schedule should reflect the business accordingly. Your GM needs to know the schedule well in advance to adjust their schedule accordingly.
- Need proficiency in all our CRMs- EZ suites, Hub Spot, Fore Tees, Golf Genuis, SharePoint, Teams and many more.
- Repair and Maintenance- proactive management of possible repairs, quick attention to emergency matters and both long- and short-term R&M budgeting.
- Actively engaging Members through management of the Member areas- have a travel path that takes you through all the areas- Dining, Golf, Pool, Racquets and PE.
- Timely Communication with GM about issues and needs for the club.
As AGM you are expected to take on more responsibility and hours, have a deeper understanding of the entire club’s operations, create meaningful relationships with our Members and lead your team with enthusiasm, professionalism and dedication.
