Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Applicants must hold a current CPR/AED card and or willing to get lifeguard certified. Current required local and/or state professional certification and/or license; high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or be able to obtain a work permit; proven instructor skills; and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new swim programs, excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation and GREAT COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Flexibility with schedule with evenings and weekend work required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the Swim Instructor is regularly required to be in the water for an extended period of time, to exercise, move, jump, stand and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel.
The Swim Instructor frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The Swim Instructor is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Swim Instructor must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Swim Instructor encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud with many moving parts and patrons while teaching. The facility is outside and will require employees to be in the water and in the elements as needed.
Starting wages: $15.00 (Commission on private swim lessons)
