GENERAL SUMMARY: The Financial Aid Coordinator is responsible for the administration of Student Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Coordinator reports to and works with the Financial Aid Administrator to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department. The Financial Aid Coordinator ensures compliance with federal, state, and campus regulations, develops and administers policies and procedures, analyzes practices to enhance service, and provides financial aid counseling to students. The Financial Aid Coordinator delivers exemplary customer service to current, prospective, and former students by participating in managing the day-to-day processes of the financial aid office. Excellent communication skills are required. Leadership, problem solving, and public speaking skills are required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Ensures the assigned department operates within all applicable regulation guidelines.
- Provides financial aid counseling (via phone, email, walk-in appointment, orientation, and open house events) to prospective, current, and former students, providing vital support to institution recruitment and retention efforts. Counsels regarding financial aid procedures, availability, quality and access of financial aid funds in order to assure high quality student services, with the goal of assisting students in meeting their educational goals.
- Develop, maintain, and update tracking system procedures within existing guidelines for all student aid files, applications and documentation.
- Provides student loan counseling and processes exit interviews for all students receiving financial aid prior to graduation in order to establish clear understanding of their responsibilities and to assure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Creates and maintains student files ensuring proper assembly, necessary paperwork is complete, and documents are in proper order.
- Assist with creation of in school payment plans for students and work with students to ensure payments are made on a timely basis.
- Review award letters with parents and students. Explain to students and parent’s options for funding the gap between financial aid and total tuition/fees
- Maintain a close working relationship with main campus office
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by the school
- Assist in Orientation for new students
- Assist with purchasing in the organization. Ensures all purchase requisitions and invoices are signed, dated and sent to the main campus.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
