Job Overview:
Arclabs Welding School is seeking an Outside Student Recruiter who is passionate about helping students explore careers in welding. This role is focused on engaging high school students during the school year, with responsibilities shifting to general student recruitment during summer and holiday breaks. The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, and ready for extensive travel to high schools and community events.
Key Responsibilities:
- High School Outreach (School Year Focus):
- Establish and maintain relationships with high school counselors, teachers, administrators, and student organizations to build a recruitment network.
- Attend school visits, career fairs, and student events, presenting Arclabs’ specialized welding programs and career pathways.
- Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations for students, parents, and staff, highlighting the welding industry and Arclabs’ educational offerings.
- Guide students through the application and enrollment process.
- Track student engagement and follow up to provide ongoing support through their decision-making process.
- General Recruitment (Off-Season Focus):
- Support campus recruitment efforts, attending open houses, community events, and conducting interviews.
- Organize and set up recruitment displays, sometimes during nights and weekends for special events.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in student recruitment, sales, or related roles, preferably in education or vocational training.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with high school students, educators, and parents.
- Strong public speaking skills with confidence presenting to groups.
- Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple school relationships and outreach efforts.
- Ability to travel extensively (85%) and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of the welding industry or technical training programs is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Some weeks will require more than 40 hours, including travel and event attendance.
- This role requires frequent travel to high schools during the academic year. During the off-season, you will support general recruitment efforts from the assigned campus, attending events and open houses. Occasional hotel stays and weekend work are expected.
