What are the responsibilities and job description for the BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) FIELD ENGINEER, CONCRETE position at ARCO?
ARCO has an exciting opportunity for a Field Engineer on our Concrete team in Laredo, TX. The Field Engineer is responsible for supporting the superintendent and managing the construction and administrative activities associated with the field operations of a project. This person will assist ARCOs design / build team in bringing the project to completion on schedule, within budget and per the project specifications, as well as being responsible for enforcing all Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures while adhering to and implementing all company policies and regulations.

- A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Assist the project manager / Superintendent in their duties including prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment, in obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples.
- Check all material against approved shop drawings and / or submittals.
- Documentation control keep submittals, drawings, permits & inspections organized and readily available.
- Assist in coordinating the activities of subcontractors to permit them to perform their work effectively and to integrate it with project schedules and progress.
- Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes, drawing revisions.
- Take on responsibility of the onsite Safety Manager, facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, & equipment inspections. Make sure all Subs go through the safety video. Preform daily safety inspections.
- Direct adherence to the companys safety program in all phases and areas of the project.
- Keep the job-site trailer organized and clean everyday
- Take notes during meetings and update meeting minutes and send to Super / DBM for final approval and distribute out to subs.
- Assist and support superintendent / Assist. Super as needed.
- Attend all ARCO safety trainings, and programs
- NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of experience construction projects, preferable on jobs that are a minimum of 100k sf.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (high proficiency)
- Able to assist in making decisions under tight deadlines.
- Able to organize people, tools, and equipment and plan / manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
- Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and assist in making necessary changes.
- Computer skills : proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling programs.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting / exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence

- Bachelor's degree required. Preferrably in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field; with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
- 1-4 years' of design / build construction experience with a general contractor or concrete subcontractor preferred
- Vertical commercial construction experience
- Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
