Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting business users, collaborating to solve problems, and developing creative SAP-based solutions for user requests. Key skills required for success include strong communication, problem solving, SAP ABAP programming expertise, and a learning orientation. In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP software and application configuration solutions.
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and test application changes prior to deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and provide support to SAP users including occasional off-hours emergency support.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of business processes and workflows related to your assignments, to plant operations, to commercial systems, and to the Rolled Products business unit.
- Engage in multiple work streams including daily management, business users support, compliance testing, and software development.
- Operate within Arconic’s standards and conventions. Ensure appropriate methodologies, support processes, and procedures are followed.

You have: (required)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 3 years’ minimum experience as a Software Developer using SAP ABAP Programming Language.
- Strong root cause problem-solving and communication skills
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited institution
- 5 years minimum experience as a Software Developer using SAP ABAP Programming Language and SAP Configuration experience
- Expert in the ABAP programming language; internal tables, field symbols and assignments, Open SQL, events, calls and submits, logical unit of work, locking and enqueuing, update tasks, debugging, etc.
- Experience with SAP Version ECC6 and the Customer, Sales & Distribution, Deliveries, Invoicing, Purchasing, Receipts, Vendors and Material Master modules.
- Development of Reports using ALV function modules, ALV object-oriented programming, classical and interactive reports.
- Use of ABAP Workbench tools; data dictionary, function builder, class builder, screen painter, etc.
- Development of Forms such as SAP Scripts and Smart Forms.
- Dialog programming; develop modules using screen designer, table controls, GUI status, custom controls, ALV tree, docking container, viewers, etc.
- Understanding and use of User Exits, Enhancements, SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis, BDC, BAPI and BADI.
- Knowledge of XML, webservices IFC/ICM/ITS, security authorizations and profiles.
- Project Management and team leadership experience
