The Technical Illustrator creates and maintains clear, concise, and accurate building and construction product documentation for technical and non-technical users. Documentation covers all aspects of internal and customer-facing details including instructions for design, estimation, fabrication, and installation.

Responsibilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create technical documents for print or web publication using various illustration and publishing software.
- Communicate directly with designers, drafters and other members of the team in order to develop technical documents.
- Comprehend information intended for a technical audience; then rewrite, and organize, into documents suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work in a team environment with the other Technical Authors on different documents.
- Adhere to company standards and guidelines for technical publications.
- Multi-task and manage several documentation projects at a time.
- Work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is critical.
- Create and organize documents.
- Other job duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree form an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development and production of technical manuals/electronic technical manuals.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator to create illustrations, labels and improve artwork.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Excellent communication in spoken and written English
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Experience using a Component Content Management System (CCMS) such as Paligo, Schema, Madcap Flare, or FrameMaker to author and publish documents is a plus.
- Experience with Vault, AutoCAD or Inventor is a plus.
