What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Welder (Night Shift) position at Arcosa Brand?
Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for a Lead Welder on Night Shift. In this position you will provide training, guidance and direction to assigned employees in an efficient, clean, safe and cost-effective manner in order to achieve the goals and key performance metrics in line with the organization's objectives.

What you’ll do:
- Conducting audits of welding operators and process best practice safety for welding
- The troubleshooting of welding process and equipment related issues
- Reading and understand all Weld Procedure Specifications and customer welding requirements
- Visually analyze welds to determine welder training needs
- Help with training of new welders
- Completing the required documentation and records as required
- Proficiently perform flat welding
- Proficiently operate torch
- Lay-out and mark weld points
- Comply with all safety rules and procedures
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Education:
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in the training of production welding operators
- 4 years of production welding experience
- Experience operating the following welding processes
- GMAW
- FCAW
- GTAW (Tulsa only)
- SAW
- Ability to pass welding qualification for the above-listed process within 4 weeks
- Understanding of the following NDT processes: VT, UT, MT, and PT
- Direct application of AWS (and ASME Section IV codes for Tulsa only) code welding preferred
- Technical Skills
- Read Tape Measure
- Visual Inspection
- Blueprint Reading
- Maintenance on Welding Equipment
- Ability to provide clear, explicit verbal directions and create a positive learning environment
- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required
- Formal weld training from an accredited school preferred
- Robotic or hard automation welding system experience preferred
Working Conditions:
- Hourly schedule may change based on production needs, requires OT
- Safety sensitive role
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
