What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mine Manager position at Arcosa Brand?
Arcosa Aggregates is currently seeking a Mine Manager for our Rye, Texas plants. In this role you will support a positive safety culture by assisting with the activities and engaging with staff within a mining environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards. As a Mine Manager you will manage all mine personnel, plant operations, safety program, environmental and community relations in accordance with company policy and government agencies.
Day to Day:
- Comply with all industry and safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
- Manage day-to-day operations in an aggregate environment producing quality material at or below production cost.
- Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of plant employees.
- Make decisions that are guided by policies, procedures, and business plans.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- Facilitates weekly Arcosa Safety Briefings.
- Leads & manages hiring, disciplinary actions, & terminations as needed.
- Follow established procedures for operating various conventional production tasks to produce quality aggregate materials
- Minimize overtime used, schedule vacations, etc.
- Maintain equipment with assistance of maintenance personnel through coordination and scheduling
- Maintain purchasing of regular materials for the operation
- Maintains operational compliance with zoning and related permits
- Develop annual budgets for operation
- Responsible for meeting all MSHA and local safety requirements as well as maintaining environmental issues at this sensitively located operation
- Being a Company Representative with the local community
- Understanding of basic financial reporting related to aggregate operations
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Mining, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred or at least 3 to 5 years of mine supervision experience required
- Experience managing an Aggregates Operation in the production of aggregate material, preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety
- Experience and understanding of aggregate equipment in a dredge mining environment.
- Excellent time management skills: ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate with a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality
- Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety
- Knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment in a mining environment.
- Diverse experience with very strong financial, communication, management, organizational, and supervisory skills essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
- Positive, Team-based attitude
Working Conditions
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends and nights, when necessary
- Travel 5%
