What You Will Do:

• In-depth testing of Arcosa products, ensuring product quality beyond the capability of the production staff. 
• Sets up and properly utilizes laboratory equipment such as compression machines, moisture analyzers, particle size analyzers, alpine air jet sieves, and sand shakers. 
• Utilizes laboratory equipment such as compression machines, moisture analyzers, particle size analyzers, alpine air jet sieves, and sand shakers. 
• Inventory equipment such as compression machines, moisture analyzers, particle size analyzers, alpine air jet sieves, and sand shakers. 
• Lab activities will include setting up test series, preparing and evaluating samples using various techniques, documenting and analyzing the results, completing forms based on test data and technician notes, and filing test reports. 
• Conducts routine experimental laboratory work focused on the development of new products and quality control functional testing of current products, including specimen cube testing and product shelf-life testing, using accepted laboratory protocols and methods.
• Maintains workstations, lab equipment, and all areas utilized by lab staff.
• Collects soiled glassware, cleans, and glassware, including beakers, flasks, tubes, bottles, cylinders, etc.; replenishes stock locations of glassware to minimum levels.
• Assembles/disassembles equipment; keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. 
• Ensures that proper documentation protocols and standards are observed. 
• Labels products and stores chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines. 
• Maintains files of material safety data sheets (MSDS) files. 
• Assists team members on mock-up tests as directed. 
• Provides administrative support with regard to filing, record retention, conducting virtual research, and answering the telephone to screen and forward calls, take messages, and provide information.
• Organizes work to minimize re-work and errors and improve workflow and repeatability. 
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the basic functioning of the lab, including all the rules, regulations, safety procedures, documentation protocols, and equipment operation. 
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
