Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Welder for our Franklinton, LA office who possess a strong understanding of metals and equipment and shows proof of experience using them to assemble and fabricate structures made of metal. Using equipment such as welders, shapers, cutters, and other measuring tools, a welder is responsible for producing products according to employer or customer specifications and standards.
Day to Day:
- Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
- Perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in areas including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment and workplace inspections to maintain equipment performance
- Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operators
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
- Proficient at various types of metal fabrication
- Certified Welder - Mig, Tig and Rod
- Troubleshoot basic troubleshooting skills
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
About You:
- Certified Welder
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
- Positive, Team-based attitude
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends and nights when necessary
- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
- The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- CPR & First Aid trained
- MSHA Trained
- Forklift & Man lift Certified
- Confined Space trained
- Fall protection trained
Working Conditions: Some jobs could work under harsh conditions including dirty environment, air contamination, intense noise, and restricted movement.
