- The ability to operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.)
- Operate equipment in quarry and daily hauling of material from mine pit to stockpile, plant or hopper
- Performs walk-around pre-shift safety inspections and workplace inspections to include maintenance and cleanliness of loader.
- Identifies any safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and any other areas where safety can be improved
- Communicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all plant traffic controls
- Operate a front-end loader to efficiently and accurately load customer trucks and maintain stockpiles when needed, day or night.
- Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced
- Work as ground man and assist on maintenance when not operating the front-end loader
- Conduct winter maintenance of the asphalt plant during winter season
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned

- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
- The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
