Arcosa Marine is searching for a Safety Oriented Custodian in our Ashland City, TN barge plant. As a Custodian at Arcosa Marine, you will work with a great group of people who really care about the job you do. The Custodian keeps buildings and work areas in a clean and orderly condition by performing any combination of duties, including sweeping, mopping, washing, cleaning, and removing trash from building and work areas.
Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What you will do:
- Keep building and work areas in a clean and orderly condition by performing any combination of duties, including sweeping, mopping, washing, cleaning, and removing trash from building and work areas
- May maintain building by performing minor and routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning light fixtures, changing light bulbs, and replacing necessary components
- Maintain grounds by mowing, watering, edging lawns, planting, and trimming flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Follow all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you will need:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in similar job capacity
- Required to stand for long periods of time; extensive walking
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must have understanding of the technical aspects of job
- Must have ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
- Regular attendance is required
