What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Arcosa Marine Products, Inc?
Arcosa Marine is searching for an Estimator for our Marine Barge team located in Madisonville, LA. The Estimator will support the current team with new barge estimates and specification preparation across all barge products while ensuring Arcosa and its brands are viewed as leaders in innovation and reliability within the Marine market.
Arcosa Marine is a Louisiana-based company specializing in Barge Manufacturing, Components, & Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) covering systems. Arcosa Marine is the leading manufacturer of barges and a critical supplier component for the barge market / industry.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with the Arcosa Marine leadership team to support sales strategies to achieve annual targets
- Review and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Work with customers and Engineering Procurement Companies (EPCs) to develop solutions and address their needs
- Design and provide accurate costing estimates for core and non-core products
- Coordinate with engineering, production, sales to develop the estimate based on the RFP requirements
- Work with cross functional teams to evaluate designs and processes to improve the overall estimate and technical specification accuracy
- Make visits to customer locations and job sites, as needed
- Explore new and adjacent markets that allow us to leverage our supply chain and manufacturing capacity to expand and grow our business while maintaining our core product market leading position
- Participating in Industry, Regional, and National organizations as directed to complement marketing and innovation efforts
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred - Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Aeronautical or Naval Architect and Marine Engineering concentrations
- FE certifications preferred
- One (1) to three (3) years of high-level technical sales and project estimating or equivalent in education, training and work history required
- Broad knowledge of structural and fabrication processes
- General business knowledge
- Ability to analyze, compare, and write technical data and specifications
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Some Travel, Approx 15%-25%
