Arcosa Marine is searching for an MRO Buyer in our Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant.
Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
The MRO Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing maintenance, repair, and operations materials, tools,and services needed to maintain and operate equipment and facilities.
What You'll Do:
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery time.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues.
Procurement Management:
- Receive and review internal requisitions for MRO items.
- Generate purchase orders with accurate specifications and quantities.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor MRO inventory levels to maintain optimal stock.
- Implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Analyze usage patterns to forecast future MRO needs.
Cost Optimization:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations and alternative sourcing.
- Analyze pricing data and identify potential cost reductions.
- Implement cost-effective procurement strategies
What you'll need:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred, or applicable experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of applicable Manufacturing MRO Buyer experience.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.
- Analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
