Arcosa Marine is searching for a safety-oriented Overhead Crane Inspector in our Ashland City, TN barge plant.
Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What you will do:
- Perform regular inspections of cranes and lifting equipment
- Evaluate crane’s operational components, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings
- Identify necessary repairs or maintenance
- Ensure all equipment meets industry safety standards
- Recommend updates to equipment or procedures to improve safety and efficiency
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and updates
- Conduct tests to assess the functionality of crane safety devices and features
- Assist in incident investigations related to equipment failure
- Provide training on safety procedures and proper equipment use
What you will need:
- Certification as a Crane Inspector
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and inspection
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Safety orientated
- Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
