Medical Assistant/Drug testing collector Flexible weekdays and times

Position: Medical Assistant for DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing, Physicals, Telehealth, post accident and random testing.

Location: Amherst, MA and surrounding towns

Overview: The mobile lab stationed on UMASS Amherst campus provides DOT testing, drug and alcohol testing for businesses, schools etc. 90% of the testing is on campus testing students or employees. You must have a valid drivers license. On-call and/or after-hours collections will be required from time to time. available if you want more hours. UMASS needs us 3-5 days a week, the days of the week and times are flexible if needed. We do not offer health insurance at this time. DOT certified CMA's are preferred. We can train and certify anyone for drug collections. Prefer Certified Medical assistants for Physicals or if you aren't certified/registered than agree to get certified within 30 days. You must be able to pass a drug test as we do DOT and NON DOT drug testing. If you have a medical card no issues.

Job Summary: The Certified medical assistant will perform DOT and NON DOT drug/alcohol tests, physicals(telehealth), onsite at clients business or scene of an accident at UMASS Amherst most of your time. If you are not DOT certified we can get you certified. Drug testing and Chain of Custody forms experience are very helpful. This position is part time to or ft(32 hours). You must be comfortable working independently and detail oriented. You will be working by yourself with interaction with the transit department at UMASS. There are blocks of time where you do not have work, our Boston Lab might call you to have you work on a task to help with paperwork audits, phones etc. You will need to train at our Boston Lab and One day a month possible come to Boston for team meetings, training or help. Mileage would be paid for travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* All testing collection processes for drug, alcohol, (urine, saliva, hair, nail, vital signs)

*travel to onsite locations within the Amherst/Springfield MA area for testing, must have a license.

*If you have downtime you may be asked to do marketing information gathering, review documents, receive phone calls from the main office for appointment making.

*Must be comfortable with interacting with all clients and be a team player helping your coworkers.

* Must be comfortable driving the lab van and bringing it to get gas or propane. Its a Mercedes Van very easy to drive, no special license required.

* Perform observed and unobserved urine collections as required

*Background check required, regular drug testing as an employee, clean record.

* Perform on-site collections at various work places as directed. After-hours on-call collections at client’s work place may be required. This will require the use of a personal vehicle or if available mobile lab. The Company will reimburse for mileage at the IRS allowable rate.

* Perform basic cleaning to comply with lab protocol/daily office cleaning duties

* Administer accurate, reliable, confidential, and timely notifications.

* Office administration, record keeping and upkeep, adhering to all relevant state/federal regulations, as well as company policies, and procedures.

* Maintain customer protocols and electronic customer management. Daily, weekly and monthly records audits to check accuracy of all documents is part of the job. If needed addtional paperwork as needed by Lab Manager will be required.

* Maintain certifications and ensure continuous professional development and training within all relevant job functions.

*Must be willing to come to Boston on occasion, normally 1 day a month, normally for training or staff meetings. Mileage will be reimbursed.

*Must read and speak english and also be comfortable with technology, telehealth, laptops, wifi etc.

• Calling out regularly or issues where you cannot come to work regularly would be an issue with this position as we do not have back up.

Experience:

• Medical Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
• drug testing: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
