What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at ARCpoint Labs of Wilmington, DE?
We are seeking an entry level Phlebotomy Technician to join our medical team. The Phlebotomy Technician will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing in addition to assisting with other services we offer such as drug/alcohol collections.
Duties:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to obtain blood samples
- All testing collection processes for drug, alcohol, DNA tests, physical exams and clinical testing (urine, saliva, hair, phlebotomy, vital signs).
- Perform basic cleaning to comply with lab protocol/daily office cleaning duties
- Perform observed and unobserved urine collections.
- Administer accurate, reliable, confidential, and timely notifications.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Lab Manager.

- Office administration, record keeping and upkeep, adhering to all relevant state/federal
regulations, as well as company policies, and procedures.
-Maintain customer protocols and electronic customer management.
- Maintain inventory including ordering, receiving, and storing.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments.
- Daily drop-off of Fed-Ex, UPS etc
- Perform contract after-hours collections, as well as on-site collections at various work places as
directed.
- Communicate accurately with clients, Designated Employee Representative, and Medical
Review Officers.
- Label vials accurately and maintain patient records
- Follow proper patient identification procedures
- Transport specimens to the laboratory for testing
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in venipuncture and skin puncture techniques
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and blood sampling procedures
- Ability to accurately document patient information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Continuous professional development and training within all relevant job functions.
