Description:
As a project engineer at Arctic Compressor, you will be responsible for driving all phases of a product’s lifecycle including architecture definition, component selection, detailed mechanical design, electrical requirements, component procurement, integration, testing, and operation. As part of a small, well-supported team of problem solvers, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can’t be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to take initiative, fail fast with optimism, work independently, and learn on the fly. You will enthusiastically strive to achieve your goals.
Responsibilities:
- Operate in a collaborative team environment guiding new product development efforts in a timely manner and within budget.
- Own projects ensuring viability at milestones along the way.
- Coordinate and supervise team members and resources for urgency and greatest efficiency.
- Create 3D CAD models, bill of materials, print packages, and technical documentation.
- Perform accurate calculations and analysis to support your thinking and execution.
- Prepare data collection and test plans for testing of prototype designs.
- Collaborate with the production team and vendors to incorporate design for manufacturability (DFM) practices to ensure cost effectiveness and ease of assembly.
- Support technicians with mechanical/electrical installation and integration of your designs, both with engineering oversight and hands-on assembly as needed.
- Specify and select components from vendors, then manage the procurement process with the assistance of our procurement team.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role preferred. An equivalent combination of work experience, training and/or education may be considered.
- Ability to lead, follow, and innovate.
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical design, assembly, standard fasteners etc.
- Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience in automation, Arduino, industrial controls, PLC’s, and VFD’s a plus.

- Working Hours: 9hours Mon-Thurs, within 6:30am-5pm, and 4hrs Friday morning.
- Work Environment: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment and also in a manufacturing environment that requires the employee to follow safety protocols and best practices.
- Travel: This position may require occasional travel including travel outside the local area and overnight.

Compensation Range:
$85,000 - $115,000
