Brief Summary:
The Specialty Clinic Nurse/Case Manager understands the unique aspects of the population served; demonstrates advanced health knowledge and nursing skills through assessment and care; coordinates care appropriately using critical thinking and professional judgment. This position assists in planning, implementing, monitoring, supporting, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with SSMH and Non-SSMH Providers for the patients referred to the Specialty Clinic. This position may rotate to areas within the Nursing department for which the employee has demonstrated competency. All responsibilities of this position are executed or delegated in a manner consistent with its scope of practice and functions according to the philosophy and care delivery model of Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital.

Education & Experience:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
Able to articulate and demonstrate appropriate nursing theory and practice. Three (3) years nursing experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current Registered Nurse License (any state), Alaska Registered Nurse License required within six (6) months of hire.
- Current BLS Certification
- PALS and ACLS certifications required within six (6) months of hire.
- NRP, TNCC, ENPC, SGNA, INCC certifications preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Values & Standards of Nursing Practice at SSMH. Displays appropriate judgment and problem-solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
