Under the employment of the Sr. Director of L&D this position is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of L&D training programs and initiatives on behalf of ASRC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

  • Plan, execute, and oversee L&D projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage monthly shareholder and employee statistic reporting process. Conduct routine audits of processes to ensure high quality production results in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Review forms and reports and confer with management and users about format, distribution, and purpose, and to identify problems and suggest improvements. Design, evaluate, recommend, and approve changes of forms and reports.
  • Act as a liaison with management and appropriate corporate and operating company departments in regard to L&D and shareholder development and employment.
  • Maintains diplomatic relationships and exchanges information with internal and external entities, including ASRC shareholders and the general public.
  • Ensure project communications meet organizational needs. This includes, but is not limited to, high‐level program status, project briefings, and presentations to management.
  • At the direction of supervisor, develop and draft content, communications, illustrations, and presentations to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management, employees, and shareholders.
  • Gather, organize, and consolidate employee and shareholder employment and training information. Analyze data gathered and recommend solutions, as needed.
  • Develop project timelines and coordinate internal and third-party L&D resources, and speakers for program offerings.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Assess and monitor effectiveness of training programs.
  • Manage assigned projects and keeps supervisor informed of potential risk. Proactively anticipates and prevents potential problems. Escalates issues as they arise through appropriate internal company resources, while maintaining confidentiality, as needed.
  • Travel to annual shareholder meetings, conferences, and offsite locations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or another related field.
  • Additional experience in a related field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years of leading and developing training initiatives or other related experience, with increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Iñupiat culture.
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer satisfaction for assigned responsibilities.
  • Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Five (5) years supervisory leadership preferred.
  • Project Management Professional Certification preferred.
  • The ability to speak and understand the Iñupiaq language is important and preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, or legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top administration, public groups, or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes the ability to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus.

The work environment is in a busy office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. On occasion, the incumbent is required to work alone, at various times during the day or night. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, may frequently be exposed to extreme cold, and occasional exposed to extreme heat and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
