SUMMARY

Arcticom, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified CLOUD FINANCIAL ANALYST POSITION for Air Force Logistics IT and Remote. Desires a Cloud Financial Analyst who is highly motivated, a self-starter and detail oriented to support the Air Force Logistics IT cloud migration and sustainment team (Strike Team 3). Responsibilities will include monitoring and analyzing Air Force Logistics IT portfolio cloud expenditure across various platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, Google Cloud) to identify cost-saving opportunities, ensure budget adherence, and develop and maintain cloud budgets and financial forecasts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Document, track, and scrutinize cloud migration labor and cloud hosting costs for applications within the Air Force Logistics IT Portfolio.
  • Analyze application hosting costs and lead cost optimization actions to ensure efficient and cost-effective cloud architecture for Air Force Logistics IT Portfolio applications.
  • Use available tools and data on a regular cadence to analyze application cloud architecture from a cloud cost efficiency perspective and identify potential cost savings actions for Air Force Logistics IT Portfolio applications.
  • Provide resource advisors accurate and detailed information to ensure timely obligation and expenditure of migration and sustainment funding.
  • Coordinate with cloud hosting service providers and Cloud One PMO to ensure cloud migration labor and compute and store funding is in place to support mission requirements.
  • Utilize tools to track (JIRA) and plan (Microsoft Excel) future financial requirements for both cloud migration labor and cloud hosting costs.
  • Support Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process inputs and maintain annual spend plan for cloud migration and cloud hosting budgets.
  • Coordinate with Strike Team 3 cloud subject matter experts to ensure accurate cloud migration cost estimation and support cloud migration discussions as a financial analyst.
  • Coordinate with Application and Functional ownership on cloud architecture and automation to ensure technical cost optimization for cloud hosting.
  • Execute return on investment analysis for planned and completed cloud migrations and provide cost benefit analysis recommendations to Strike Team 3 leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and/or streamline current financial tracking and execution methods.
  • Write clear and well-structured inputs to support requested deliverables as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Enter minimum KSAO’s required to do the job.
  • Cloud computing expertise: A strong understanding of cloud computing services, including cloud infrastructure, software, and platform as a service (IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS).
  • Financial management skills: Knowledge of financial management principles and experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Data analysis skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including data visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Collaboration and communication skills: Experience working in a multi-functional team environment and coordinating across multiple organizations.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
  • This position does perform DOT “safety-sensitive” functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is subject to all federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on-call to perform, “safety-sensitive” functions. Employees must provide a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
