THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Research Associate II (Temp) to join our Analytical Development team at our Headquarters in San Diego, CA. The position will report to the Senior Scientist – Analytical Development, and the duration is 6 months with possible extension up to a year.
In this position, you will conduct comprehensive characterizations of mRNA and mRNA-lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to investigate new analytical technologies and support the advancement of Arcturus’s current pipelines. The ideal candidate will be meticulous and well-organized in their daily tasks, with a strong eagerness to explore and adopt new analytical techniques.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Characterize mRNA and mRNA-LNP using advanced analytical technologies, including plate-based assays, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and capillary electrophoresis (CE).
- Optimize existing standard testing procedures and develop new analytical methods to meet the specific needs of various Arcturus pipelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all experimental procedures and results, including test protocols, electronic notebooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other relevant documents.
- Prepare data summaries, certificates of testing (CoT), technical reports, and presentations to summarize procedures, study results, and data interpretation as needed.
- Participate in and lead other relevant lab support and operational activities as needed.
WHAT WE SEEK
- BS with 3-5 years of relevant industry experience or MS with 1-2 years of relevant industry experience. Prior experience with nucleic acid analysis is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with plate-based assays, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), capillary electrophoresis (CE). Experience with analytical method development is a plus.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of work performed and data generated on a daily basis. Must be familiar with MS Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated to enhance skills and expertise.
EDUCATION
BS or MS degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical engineering, Life Sciences or equivalent.
WHAT WE OFFER
Anticipated range for candidates that will work in San Diego is between $77,400 and $102,000 annually
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Arcturus Therapeutics is multi state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
